^ such an amazing race eh? Bode being disqualified must have been a huge blow to him. there's 2 medals that he's missed out on. really not looking good for him after all he's talked about winning all 5.

Bode was getting beat up by the us sports media even before the olympics, his performance isn't gonna do much for him.

true, and a lot of it was pretty unwarrented. I think they made too big a deal about his comment about skiing drunk. It's his life, he can do whatever he wants with it. He's skiing because it's something he loves, so it's not anyone else's place to tell him how he should do it.

NBC used his speech and drove it into our minds for coverage. Sports media hated it, and agree it was mostly undeserved.

yeah, mainly it was NBC and any other major new corporations who were making a huge deal about it. everyone in the sports community pretty much just couldn't care less. It's the same thing as the gambling ring that gretzky's wife is involved with. The media is trying to make such a huge deal about it, blowing it way out of proportion, and there's absolutely no reason for it.

I've got a question for everyone:

what the hell is the point of the two man luge event? Isn't it pretty clear that one person can easily maneuver that little sled by themselves? what do you need two people for? What does the other guy do anyways? I'm guessing the guy on the bottom would do all of the steering, since he's the one actually in contact with the sled, so does the other guy just lie there and hang on for dear life? is he there just to make it harder on the guy on the bottom? in that case, wouldn't it be a better test of the guy's athletic ability to have a really, REALLY fat guy lying on top of him instead of a skinny little muscly guy? anyone who knows anything about two man luge please help me out here, i'm actually quite curious, and this is gonna bug me know until I know the answer.

i figure it's to gain more speed in the begining and during the race because of more mass.....

I've gotta say, snowboard cross is easily one of the most interesting sports in this olympics. Now they've just gotta get skier cross into the games.
