Which is the point franscar seems to miss. He seems to think either threads will be super popular or they won't and get lost, when fi you go away for 10 mins threads end up 3 pages back.

Again, it seems people arne't arguing against practicality, their just saying they don't want it, which makes me side with adidasss when he says it shouldn't be a big deal.

No one can tell me what harm the political forum would do.

Now I know im not the smartest politically wise but I think that was a tad mean, I can argue politics better then the seniors in school here and im sure as hell not a dumb sheep saying bush sucks, because MTV said so.

I made a movies thread
And it went good for a while
But then everyone started dedicating threads to specific movie, and I was angered.
I definitly agree that we need a politics forum.
With a lounge filled to the brim with useless forum games and random threads
It will be a nice departure to see a forum that people with no intelligence will more than happily stay away from
I think that any arguments that get started in the forum are only healthy
The best way to learn anothers view point is to discuss it
And the way to build upon your own arguments is to hear other sides of the story. Or hear an issue from another person's point of view.
When the arguments are stupid and mindless (a la "Bush is *** because he put us in war!!" ) is when there will be a problem
But as I said earlier
Most people like that would be deterred from the forum in the first place because it would be a forum (for the most part) that is a breeding ground for intelligent conversation

I think this is a really awesome idea, I think it might make MB a little less spammed if there is a place to have intelligent conversation whether it be movies or politics. I am a keen movie fan myself but I can't exactly show this with one thread asking for a favourite movie.
