There's a bit of a downside though, because occasionally (if one has extremely vivid dreams on a regular basis) you'll have a dream of an idyllic alternate universe that lasts for months/weeks in dream-time and go on to develop extremely close friendships with all of these wonderful and odd dream people (who somehow manage to stick in your memory long after the dream is over)-- and then you wake up with a strange sense of loss.
