Fell asleep unexpectedly and dreamed that I woke in my bed during an early morning thunderstorm. I walked into the living room; there was an ancient episode of All My Children (or something else involving Susan Lucci crying) quietly playing on TV. I then heard a bunch of racket coming from inside of the chimney a few feet away. It continued for a good while, so I eventually grabbed the mop from the garage and began poking it up into the chimney until whatever was in there fell out. And then out fell Billy Joel. He was out of breath and kept talking about needing to atone for his sins. I scolded him for "hiding in the chimney AGAIN" (so I suppose this was a regular occurrence) and told him that he could live in the attic if the house spirits permitted it. Anyway I hate my brain! The end

I always liked the idea of bestiaries, but I don't know if it's possible to actually buy prints of stuff like this. I think I would find it interesting, if this is something that really exists for real, and not just in pop cultural myths.

Especially when it's Animorphs+Buffy crossover fanfiction from 2001 on some ancient Angelfire website.


MicShazam, they're out there, (the bestiaries-- illuminated manuscripts, too) you just have to search. There's more and more PDFs floating around online nowadays. I've seen lots of digitized manuscripts available online lately, too. Though I often just visit this site when I'm looking for a specific ridiculous creature.

It's filled with whimsical gibberish, I love it. And LOTS of questionable information about bees.
The title alone is amazing: "The historie of serpents. I had a dream that I wasn’t in. Rick Wakeman was composing a keyboard solo designed to close out a Yes album. It sounded like a mix between We Have Heaven and Vevey. It was a tribute to his girlfriend but she didn’t like the title (I can’t remember it) so he changed it. I could hear the song perfectly in my dream and it was very beautiful.

I love this bit about dolphins: "Dolphins are the swiftest creature in the sea. They can fly over ships that attack them.
