Well if you believe in God and Jesus, and you have the bible, you don't need any more proof. That's the point in having faith.

That's about as silly as saying if you believe in santa claus and have a book about him you don't need any further proof he exists.

Bullshit. The focal point of Christianity is that Jesus died for your sins and defeated Satan, returning to earth from death. Without that, there's no chance for sinners going to heaven or any of that stuff. If it is proven Jesus never existed, never died and certainly never came back to life then it completely defuncts the core of the Christian belief system. You need to know the events happened, and have faith that they happened because Jesus was divine. If the guy never existed, he certainly wasn't divine.
