Ugh detention, what a crappy way to spend a worthwhile lunch hour or after school period.

I only got given about 3 the whole time I was in school. Heh, one of them was cause I couldnt cook and my lemon miringue (sp?) pie exploded in the oven, so she told me to come back at lunchtime for lines and a cleaning of the kitchen.

I never went to any of em =/ They were pointless anyway.

yes yes, its a thing that you do on paper in a carpeted hallway.....wait, i'll draw a picture...
(i'll edit it in, in a sec)
EDIT: here it is

Okay, as you can see, the black figure, is the person paper skating, now they kinda crouch, to start off. You can see them standing on two sheets of paper. The red and blue people grab the black figure's hands like seen the picture, and pull, running as fast as they can towards the desired location. Because the floor is carpeted, speed can exceed expectations.

In our case, the red and blue people would run as fast as they could towards a wall, and let go just before, leaving the person paperskating, still traveling straight towards the wall. Who's ever crash was more painful wins.

Haven't had any since I left school some twenty years ago
It was mainly suspensions followed by the inevitable expulsion.

Seriously?^

My last detention was about three months ago.

A Teacher (accounting) was hyping us up for a field trip to indoor go-karting. All it had to do with accounting was talking to the boss about finance for five minutes and then we get stuck into it. The real reason we were gonna go.

So we got to the day before the big day. And we get a note from him saying the boss was going up north for 3 weeks. We knew he was bull****ting he just hadn't fully organised the day properly and needed a cover. So we wrote a note back, being rather pissed off and all.

"In the unforseen circumstances, accounting classes will be put on hold for three weeks. We are awfully sorry for any inconvenience. If you wish to contact us, call us on 0800 **** you"

Landed me in a lunchtime detention, kinda minor when I look back on it though. It was so worth it.
