Anyone like to watch the Sopranos?

I've recently picked up onto the Sopranos series, and have been watching the dvds for a while now, and I'm now on season 4 disc 1. Damn that is the best tv series I have ever watched, It keeps you interested and on your toes all the time. Especially the last few episodes, I just watched the one where jackie jr. got shot and killed. Pretty crazy **** the italian mafia does man...

All I know is Meadow is hot.

Good program. Don't really know where it goes though.

Kashmir86 12-18-2005 02:47 AM

yeah the sopranos was sort of an aquired taste of mine. My older brother kept nagging me telling me to start watchin it that it was good, so I picked up the first disc and watched a couple episodes, and wasn't interested at first, but once I made myself watch the first season I was hooked. The whole mafia/organized crime thing is intriguing to me...

Well, you've seen the Godfather, right? If not, I very, very strongly suggest that you do so. It's not as modern, violent, etc. as the Sopranos, but overall I (and most people, I believe) find it better. The Sopranos is perhaps my favorite TV show, ever.

either/or 12-20-2005 01:52 AM

Yeah Sopranos is my favourite tv show of all time. I own all five seasons on dvd. oh kashmir wait till you get to the 5th season....it just keeps getting better and better. and yes meadow is hot but the actress is married now. there go my chances.

Yeah I'm on the 4th season right now, stuff is getting pretty ****ed up now... I'm hoping I get the first 2 seasons on dvd for christmas, as that is one of the things I asked for... I will eventually own them all becuase its worth it, the sopranos are awesome. Its like a better version of the godfather that goes on forever...

Sopranos

The Sopranos are awesome! However, I think they're on their way out, only because they're a fad!

2005 I think was the year before the last season, so these guys didn't know what the fate of the show was yet.

PoorOldPo 12-07-2012 08:45 PM

Bro fist accepted. :P

Got a favorite season?

PoorOldPo 12-07-2012 08:53 PM

I watched everything in one run over the summer, but if I remember correctly, I thoroughly enjoyed the second season. I constantly battled with whether or not I doted over Christopher, or hated him.

That is my favorite as well

how the hell do you do spoilers on this forum? nvm figured it out

Spoiler for Season 2 Spoilers:
The tension between Richie and Tony is great, and so is the whole situation with Christopher taking up acting, doing drugs, and nearly dying after being shot by those two other guys. And the last episode where Tony has the dreams on the boardwalk which leads to him finding out about Pussy being the FBI rat is my favorite Sopranos episode ever

PoorOldPo 12-07-2012 09:42 PM

Lets be friends! You watching boardwalk empire??

No! I'm hoping I get the first season for Christmas though, I know that one of the writers from The Sopranos is the showrunner so I'm def. excited to check it out!

Also, Game of Thrones, planning on starting that too. I canceled HBO after The Sopranos ended. :p:

PoorOldPo 12-07-2012 09:53 PM

You vancelled hbo??? Big mistake! Be is a slow burner but by god does it burn bright. It is one if not my favouritr show in terms of characters and plot. And got is astounding. I envy your innocence to them coz you are in for a teat.

PoorOldPo 12-07-2012 09:54 PM

Was going to edit teat to treat but i like it too much now.

HBO had a major slump in between The Sopranos and BE imo so yea I cancelled it unfortunately, and now I regret it. Can't wait to check out those shows though.

Trollheart 12-08-2012 04:56 PM

If you like the Sopranos (I certainly do) and haven't seen them yet, try Sons of Anarchy and Underbelly. Also back the rec for Boardwalk, and if you can somehow get it (actually I can sort it if you want) the current Irish gangland drama Love/Hate is just immense!

Po, are you watching that, as an Irishman? What do you think, if you are, and why not, if you're not? :thumb:

Yeah, those people are probably dead by now :D

P.S. I haven't watched it.

Never seen Love/Hate but I heard it was amazing.

Trollheart 12-08-2012 07:20 PM

IS amazing! Season 3 running on RTE at the moment. Episode 5 tomorrow night. So worth watching; it's scary how real it is. Great acting and some recognisable places too (if you live in Dublin, of course).

Let me know if you want me to hook you up with the first 4 eps/two seasons. Really, drama like this, home-produced, should be getting a wider audience.

Sure man, been looking for a good stream if ye don't mind!

Trollheart 12-09-2012 03:04 PM

Can't find a stream. Best I can do is point you towards a torrent (link PM'd to you) where you can d/l the first and second season. They came down really fast for me -- like in less than a half hour. I tried to upload the files to my FTP site but it was taking forever. This way is much quicker.

Oh, and prepare to watch them both in one sitting: forget sleep, you won't want it! :D
