Stu, I celebrate chrismas and I'm not a christian.

Most of my school celebrates christmas and most of them aren't christian either.

Jesus was Jewish.

I thought he was Jewish.
Seems weird really.
I don't understand all of it anyways.
I'm athiest. Until I decide otherwise anyways.

your misinterpreting what i said completely. i didnt say christmas should be strictly exclusive to christians. i simply said governments shouldnt have the right to change an age old tradition derived from christians- the followers of christ. yes jesus was a jew, but christianity's roots start with him and his followers.

You know, i think christians should get back and say "im offended by the fact im not allowed to talk about my holiday in public" i mean its hypocritical to tell them they can't say this cause it offends the athiests, when it could just as easily offend the christians.

I was answering ImOnlyDancing's question when I said, "Jesus was Jewish.", by the way.

Ohh...Ok I misread your post then...my bad.

Through personal experience I've found that the perception of offending non christians is unfounded.

Asians for example are not offended by christmas, but by assuming they are, only fuels resentment amongst rascists and the ignorant.

The whole exersize is counterproductive.

Should'nt this thread be in the lounge?

i agree. you're right, it should be in the lounge but i was in general music when i posted it. didn't even think about it.

So yeah.
I spose 'happy christmas' is not offending...

I think it's nice to respect other cultures and stuff-- but, I get offended when some Christians in America can't say "Merry Christmas!". I'm gonna say merry Christmas forever. :)
