Alright I've got a question since we do seem to have some computer guru's in the house (i'm fairly good with comps, this one just has my trouble)
I've got 2 computers in the house, both running through a modem, one hooked up directly to the router, the other wirelessly. The one directly hooked up works, the wireless one refuses to connect to the internet. It says that it is connected, and sends files, but doesn't receive anything (even though it shows that it is connected and has a signal strength that is fairly good). Anyone with any knowledge know what is wrong/how to fix it? |
Oh.
I had this problem with a wireless configuration. Is it a Linksys configuration? |
I'm not that good with setting stuff up but try to see if your firewall is blocking it or there might be something you need to install on the wireless one. Also try the help center on windows...it is fairly helpful :D

And to whoever said use the windows help thing, I've tried that. No dice. |
Ok.......go to your Internet Options
Click Connections Click LAN settings Click....automatically detect settings If that doesnt work Right click on the Linksys icon....and click repair It should work If not......go into the Linksys settings and Refresh your IP address and then try the Repair thing again |
How do you refresh your IP address? I'm having trouble with that one.
And the first two failed. |
Right click on the Green box icon with the black connection lines, it should pull up the linksys connections
....and the 1st 2 failed.... geez well linksys is a pain |
