Well, not a official term, but there are bands who mix elements of both genres, notably Mars Volta, Primus, Smashing Pumpkins, Talking Heads and Roxy Music...Also The Who and The Beatles have influenced both genres...Hell, Johnny Rotten even admited to being a fan of Van Der Graff Generator and Can.
