Question The Matrix vs. The Lord of the Rings

Which did you think was a better trilogy? I have seen all six movies and I have to say that I really think LOTR was much much better. The action was good in all three Matrix movies, but that was it. LOTR had good action, good story, and good acting. I think it was the better of two trilogies by far.

I think the matrix, only because I am not a fan of those kind of movies

Here's a thought; let's stop labeling music and fighting over what genre a certain band is, and start listening to whatever pleases our ears no matter what anyone thinks of it! ;)

The whole concept of the Matrix, specifically the first one, puts it way above LOTR in my mind. LOTR was really good too though.
I thought the Matrix triology was great because it was so original - crazy new ideas, and amazing special effects too. It also threw so much extra stuff in there, like the philosophy.

It was one of those movies that really made you think.

I think the LOTR trilogy was better than the matrix trilogy....but the first matrix was the best of all the movies. LOTR was planned to be a trilogy all along. Matrix had a successful opening so they tried to push it into a trilogy. The 2nd one had NO point at all, and the 3rd one you could see they were struggling for ideas.

I don't understand why The Matrix hired such a crappy writer for Matrix 2 and 3. You think they could have been able to afford someone good. I mean the story completely sucked and made little sense.

LOTR all the way. I didn't like Matrix: Reloaded that much and I still haven't seen Revolutions.

No need to see Revolutions. It was horrible. The worst of the three movies in my opinion.
