North Mississippi Allstars
I want a review, because RS said Electric Blue Watermelon was a pretty good album but I've been burned before, anyone?

I don't know. Hill county Review is a great live album, I'd check that out. Also check out the semi-supergroup The word: Gunther - NMA, Robert Randolph - Robert Randolph and the Family Band, John Medeski - MMW.

Hill County Review is a N. Mississippi Allstars album
The Word Is a Band composed of three members, one of which (Luther, I always call him Gunther for some reason) is the Guitarist/singer for NMA. The other two members are Robert Randolph of Robert Randolph and the Family Band (incredible band by the way), and John Medeski from Medeski, Martin, and Wood (one of the best Nu-jazz trios in the world, if you didn't know that already). |

Best new album of the year
I have bought new music from about ten artists this year. Nothing came close to blowing me away like Electric Blue Watermelon. Every single song is five star. Luther D ickinson=technical precision with the electric guitar. The lyrics flow, the solo's are breath-taking, and there is sadness, joy, and hope. Everyone thought southern Rock died when Lynard Skynard crashed, but beleive me, it is alive and well. Guest appearances by Lucinda Williams and the Dirty Dozen Brass Bank and Robert Randolph. This album is nothing short of AMAZING. Buy it!

I've seen NMA several times in the past couple of years and they are an outstanding live band. Nothing they've done in the studio comes close to what they do live. Luther is absolutely smokin'. See them if you get a chance.
