Swing
|

Zoot suit riot brings back high school memories. Planktons post brings back even more distinctive memories of doing dishes a year ago while listening to a swing playlist. (And they say that smell is the sense most connected to memory)
Keep em comin. |

Another classic. This one brings back memories of breastfeeding my firstborn at my parents house lol... I had it in my head back then that swing music was important for neurodevelopment :D

Here's some good nostalgia:

After several months someone finally post something in one of my personal favourite genres and it does even belong in here.
Please move this to the jazz section where it belongs, thank you. |

When I was a kid I ordered a free album from Guitar Player magazine. Didn't know a single artist on the record. Joe Pass? Charlie Byrd? Barney Kessell?
Took one spin once it arrived and I didn't touch my guitar for weeks after. This takes a bit to get going. |
Awesome. That's the reason I made the initial post. Squirrel Nut Zippers and The Cherry Poppin' Daddies are cool but they're not original Swing, and that's what I wanted to get from this thread. Thank you :)
Here's another band I like. |
"Ships were made for sinking, whiskey made for drinking
If we were made of cellophane, we'd all get stinking drunk much faster" ....awesome.... |
|
Talk about cooky, this is just cool....

Love this song....

Ok, this is a great song and video. It features Danny Elfman from Oingo Boingo fame, and there is some nudity in it, so if I've broken any rules, please kill me, for I meant no harm, please enjoy :)

Nice video to boot... reminds me of my Texas Holdem days (except with better music... Some jack@$$ always kept "Brick House" in constant jukebox rotation, probably to put everyone with ears in a constant state of TILT!!) |
