It's not my favorite blues song but this New Orleans style ditty by King Biscuit Boy from his 1971 album Gooduns kicks out the jams. It's called Bald Head Rhumba Boogie. King Bisuit Boy was actually Richard Newell a Canadian guitarist and harmonica player who played in the 2nd edition of the Ronnie Hawkins backup band, the Hawks.
Prior to Richard Newell's involvement, the first edition of the Ronnie Hawkin's Hawks was Robbie Roberton, Richard Manuel, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson and Rick Danko who went on to acheive international noterity as The Band and as Bob Dylan's road band from 1966 to 1967. |
