![]() ![]() On the Road by Art Farmer Art Pepper plays on this as well. It’s not flashy but they have good chemistry.

![]() ![]() From This Place - Pat Metheny Metheny reached the peak of Jazz Everest a long time ago, but this new record is particularly nice. Lots of great orchestration and intricacy. Plus Lyle Mays is dead so adds an extra layer of melancholy for me.

![]() ^ I'm listening to this Nucleus album atm, a little late but that's my fault for missing this exchange from two years ago:- Quote:

![]() ![]() Overall, the musicians do a great job of keeping things afloat and interesting. Should've had the discipline to ditch the vocalist though.

So thanks again - and hope you feel better soon. Coronavirus apart, any 'flu/cold can leave you feeling miserable for days, as I know from experience.

Not really related but you should check out Oregon if you haven't already, Lis. A little more out there and airy than some of the more rough and tough jazz rock bands from the 70's but they're still pretty great and one of my personal faves. Debut in particular. |

windsock!! So good to see you here again!
Over the weekend I picked up Elastic Rock, WTAIL, Solar Plexus, Roots and Belladonna for good measure. So many tracks with a tasty, solid rhythm and those oozing oboe-type sounds that I love from Soft Machine - but with more trumpet too on these albums. Wonderful. Will definitely check out Oregon on your rec. Thanks.
