great stuff too! i wanted to go buy a record as a gift to a jazz-lover, couldnt find the record i wanted so over the next couple of days i downloaded and began listening some of the available options, and i have heard like 3-4 masterpieces for the first time! |

Altschul (and Bennink too) kept me occupied in my practice room in those days. Especially Altschul's work with Circle. Wore the following double album out many times back in those days. Loved his (still do) seven and half minute percussion solo that introduces Braxton's 73° Kelvin. Have that Braxton twisted melody memorized to the point where I can whistle it. Another great album. Just swap Corea with Rivers. |

Some of what he plays is like what but a lot of it works for me. At the very least he has a decent knack for when to play and when not to. **** it, I think he’s good.
