Hmmm... I'll take purposely ironic bands with "Bad" in their name who do jazz covers of popular contemporary songs for 2000, Alex:

I wanted to shake my cane and tell new ironic jazz cover bands to get off my lawn too (I love The Bad Plus), but I have to say BadButNotGood is exciting me quite a bit.

Realizing Satchmo and Goofle were here at the same time is a bit like when you realize Lincoln, Bismarck, and Mark were all alive at the same time.

Mark? We talking about Mark Twain?

Per BBNG, my favorite thing they've ever been involved in is still their mix/compilation album of other artists material for their entry in the 'Late Night Tales' series. They've got great taste. Their last album, Talk Memory, was okay too.
