Anyone recommend me some good scat?
?
|
|
That was pretty wonderful.
Question though, I was always under the impression that the 'scat' part of jazz was all about the "skibbity-bops" and whatnot. Is it broader than I had realized? |
Its defiantly much broader in a big way. All the way from scat in the late 1920s, to bebop in the 1950s, and all the way to hip hop and rappers.
Here is a link that will explain it much better than I can. Ive only caught notice of scat around a year ago, so I am far from being an expert on the subject. The link below can give you more information than I personally can. I hope it contains what your wanting to know. Scat singing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
This has got to be the funniest thread title of all time.

Al Jarreau is one of the Best George Benson always sang along with his guitar solos, which created an unmistakably unique style. Bobby McFerrin (especially pre-"Don't Worry, Be Happy") had a novel, modern approach to scat singing-I like "Sightless Bird", "Drive", "El Brujo" and others. |

And why did you have to call the thread "Can anyone recommend me some good scat?" It just screams it. |
