Buzzy Feiten did a great job on Blues when he was with Paul Butterfield's band, and beyond.
Robben Ford always caught my ear. I especially loved his sound and sensibilty when he was doing things with Jimmie Witherspoon. Believe it or not Matt Murphey used to burn, back when he was with James Cotton. |

Those early Paul Butterfield albums opened up Chicago style Blues to a lot of white kids dis-satisfied with Top 40 radio programming, who had been DX'ing far away radio staions in Memphis, and hearing that there was something besides Bobby Vinton, and The Beatles (who of course were also recycling American music back to our shores themselves, as well as The Stones, who were even introducing the creators).
And Mike Bloomfield and Paul Butterfield, et al, did not hide where they got it from. It was a "salt&pepper" band, and straight Blues, before progressing into more experimental music. Super Session, however, especially "Albert's Blues," was seminal and REALLY paid tribute. Again, American Flag went even further, Yeah, Bloomfield had it going on. |

^^to make more pointless postings, pedestrian have said to me that Mods aren't "omnipresent" - they need sleep too
maybe they need a Mod in this region to monitor activity (hint! hint!) |
