Hi, Blueslady! Sounds like you`re a fan of elec blues guitar, which is not so common in a girl: Welcome to MB !
You may be interested in these threads if you haven`t seen them yet: http://www.musicbanter.com/jazz-blue...ek-trucks.html http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...lues-hero.html I`m pleased to see you mention Walter Trout, who deserves more attention than he receives - which also applies to the person that I repeatedly champion here; Roy Buchanan. Have you listened to him much? |
My favourite guitarists
T Bone Walker Muddy Waters BB King |
I like Robert Johnson....but then again I mostly listen to my own recordings. There are many super guitar players who are not known for the blues but can play the blues...Steve Morris comes to mind. I grew up in Texas and got to play with many of the great blues players over the years. I am a old guy and had the great pleasure of being part of the Texas blues world. Sometime that world was pretty hard and more than a little ugly. Out of all that came a sound that has had a huge influence on most of popular music.

Favorite blues guitarists
Too many. My head's going to explode!
Duane Allman Lightnin' Hopkins Gary Moore Alvin Lee Peter Green Mick Taylor Jeff Healey Johnny Lang Johnny Winter Mike Bloomfield Alan Wilson Walter Trout |
I forgot to add to my earlier list someone else who belongs there: Robert Cray
I'm also going to have to check out Walter Trout, since I see a couple of mentions. And, like blueslady I'd already had Rory Gallagher on list (who's not mentioned often enough & he influenced so many thereafter. Madho1 also agree w/several of your mentions (in my list, too); excellent pick of Alvin Lee, who I shouldn't have forgot, since I just recently checked out on youtube! |
Ronnie Earl hasn't been mentioned yet, so here he is...
