I've seen him in concert at the House of Blues with a friend of mine who is a real big fan of Buddy. If you like Jimi or SRV he's a shoe in as a favorite because he had influence on both.

Hes a fantastic guitarist much in the vein of Robert Cray. I prefer minimalist blues players with a real appreciation for the pioneers. Guy, Albert, BB, and Cray always take such a polished route to song writing its very infectious.

I saw a video of Albert King, he was playing his Flying V with the strings strung upside down because (you know) he's a left-hander use to playing right-handed gutiars. It made his playing all the more intriguing.

Found this great video.
B.B King - Live in Stockholm 1974 - YouTube Most of B.B.'s live music from the seventies is really good. I think he may have decided to get with the times and play a little faster. Has anyone heard his live from Japan album? The song "niji baby" cme on pandora the other day and I was really blown away. May be some of the best playing I've heard from him, unfortunately I can't find it on YouTube. |

A great video, indeed. And, yeah, I've heard the live from Japan album and was very impressed by "Niji baby", too. A fantastic guitar playing. I searched it in youtube, but it really wasn't there, I have no idea why. One of the very few things that aren't on youtube, but I have them on my computer.
