I've seen him in concert at the House of Blues with a friend of mine who is a real big fan of Buddy. If you like Jimi or SRV he's a shoe in as a favorite because he had influence on both.

Hes a fantastic guitarist much in the vein of Robert Cray. I prefer minimalist blues players with a real appreciation for the pioneers. Guy, Albert, BB, and Cray always take such a polished route to song writing its very infectious.

To quote B.B. King himself "I've said that playing the Blues is like having to be black twice. Stevie Ray Vaughan missed on both counts but I never noticed"

I saw a video of Albert King, he was playing his Flying V with the strings strung upside down because (you know) he's a left-hander use to playing right-handed gutiars. It made his playing all the more intriguing.

Albert really was something in his own right. He had a pretty distinct sound, you can hear so much of him in Stevie ray.

Found this great video.

B.B King - Live in Stockholm 1974 - YouTube

Most of B.B.'s live music from the seventies is really good. I think he may have decided to get with the times and play a little faster.

Has anyone heard his live from Japan album? The song "niji baby" cme on pandora the other day and I was really blown away. May be some of the best playing I've heard from him, unfortunately I can't find it on YouTube.

A great video, indeed. And, yeah, I've heard the live from Japan album and was very impressed by "Niji baby", too. A fantastic guitar playing. I searched it in youtube, but it really wasn't there, I have no idea why. One of the very few things that aren't on youtube, but I have them on my computer.

You should totally post it to YouTube. I would really appreciate it. I'm dying to hear it again. As much as I've listened to BB, that recorded Kind of surprised me. Maybe the best playing I've heard from him.
