Default Last Delta Bluesman passes away

The last of the original Delta Bluesmen, Honeyboy Edwards passed away Monday night. Honeyboy hung around and played with the legendary Robert Johnson. I was fortunate enough to be his backing guitarist a few years ago at BB Kings in NYC . . . best part was talking with Honeyboy in the dressing room sippin' bourbon.

RIP.

That's awesome, you not only got to go backstage, but you performed with him.

The delta blues are something I am not really that informed or familiar with. But I do know who Robert Johnson is. Ive always been a fan of Buddy Guy.

You know, now that you've brought the subject of delta blues up. I was wondering if you knew about any delta blues material that is available with "Janis Joplin" singing?

I'm not positive but I don't recall any real delta stuff recorded by Janis, I know she did quite a few Chicago Blues tunes though.

Honeyboy Edwards was great musician. More people should go discover the Delta Blues. Man I discovered through bands I listened to when I was young and wanted to hear the originals. Been hooked ever since. R.I.P. Honeyboy Edwards. Wish I could've been there with ya that night
