An idiot in the shout box the other day said that to play blues just learn the pentatonic scale. Well..thats not true..a large part of the Blues derrives from the Pentatonic but innovation is something almost unteachable to me. You either have it or you dont..just learning the scale isnt enough. Not to mention the other mixolydian and major scales and a lot of other things that come into play. the pentatonic is a good place to start and this guy explains as much as you want to learn. From scales to licks to runs.chord progressions, etc. He does it all and does it well. Keeping the lessons fun and precise without going to fast and losing you.

My stepdad keeps telling me to look into Stevie's videos so I thank you for posting that because I wouldn't have done it on my own.
He also wants me to look into some videos from the guitarist of Quiet Riot. Whatever his name is. Not for Blues inspiration mind you.

my main problem with the blues is that I understand its theory and all the major techniques - trills, butterfly bends, high note bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs but I never got the "feel" - when I play it, it sounds pretty mechanical/inorganic - I suppose it's because I haven't traded my soul to the devil's and never had a woman I loved treated me REALLY bad
if you want to play "blues", you gotta live the "blues", mesays |

Yeah I hear ya there im betting it will come with time though. I mentioned in the shouty the other night that I just played the blues I didnt live it. Well nothing could be further from the truth. My whole life is one big long Blues song. As far as my soul I traded that a long time ago. So naturally I flock to the blues like a moth to a flame.
Oh no prob DJ..id been meaning to post this guy for a while but i didnt want anyone to think I was just trying to promote him or just here for advertising purposes. Whatever level your at he has a vid for you though.
