Default Muddy Waters - Electric Mud

I recently heard this album & thought it was fantastic , however it`s hated both by Muddy & by blues purists & flopped big time.

Anyone heard this album?

Would you say it`s good or do you think it`s a festering pile of crap?

This album is substantially far from blues, that's why Muddy didn't love it, me also. In fact, that is a matter of taste...

Muddy Waters is the best. Thought I'd just add that, randomly.

i know when it was released it was seen as a commercial-sellout. I think its just him modernising and developing his sound. I love it when artists diversify and take risks - which is why i appreciate this album alot. Its certainly not his best, i prefer his traditional style. Nonetheless to say its festering pile of crap is just silly. But then Muddy waters can do no wrong in my eyes.

I can't say I'm not enjoying this. I just got a copy of it, the riffs are incredible. But then I'm no expert in the Muddy Waters discography.

I wouldn't call it psychedelia.

It's just him playing blues & covers with an electric guitar.

Tom Cat may have the sexiest riff ever written.

That would explain the wet patch I created while listening to it.
