Alright, came across this pic of Dr John and the picture caption on the page i found it on read 'Dr John is of no relation to George Clinton'.
Can sure see the resemblance though. |

I heard this is how he used to dress in the 70s. Also I agree on George Clinton being a crackpot. You have to admire him though. Also first time I ever heard of George Clinton was when I got Primal Scream's 'Give Out But Don't Give Up', he sings on quite a few of the tracks on that album. |

i only have smatters of Dr John on a New Orleans funk compilation and I'm familiar with his sound but it's not taken off with me in a big way. Clinton on the other hand, got plenty of his stuff. These days I tend to prefer the pure-funk/soulful sounds of Parliament over 'funkadelia'. Have yet to hear the 80's solo album though!
