Coltrane's Blue Train, just finishing off the bonus tracks after listening to the main album to get a proper, refreshing comment for it. This album is so brilliant I swear it's perfection.

I’ve been listening to a fair bit of Jazz recently. I like to pick and choose from various artists as opposed to albums from individuals. People like Bob James, Ronnie Laws, Richard Tee, and Wilbert Longmire have been getting a lot of plays from me when nobody else is in the house. Ronnie Laws track "every generation" is a real mellow track that helps remove the stresses of getting out of bed in the morning.

I've been getting into this album a lot lately. Stylistically it's a lot different from most of his other work, but it's amazingly good nonetheless

Was thinking about listening to that one, Jackhammer. Would a hard bop fan find it interesting?

It's quite diverse and sounds very modern for a 50 year old album. Definitely worth a solid listen.

I'd have to wonder if Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood counts. I'd say so, but...

If not, Swingin' For The Fences by Goodwin's Big Phat Band, for sure!

I was pretty amazing when I downloaded this to find that it wasn't some grindcore or death metal band. Seriously dark ambient jazz that I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone, it's great for reading or writing, if you're interested PM me for a link.
