Little Richard

jazz or R&B? im wondering cause of the way he sings and the back beat

He's rock. He was one of the people that helped rock become a separate genre from R&B.

I think like most great artists he was a mixture of several different genres.

Well like I said, he's one of the people who helped turn rock into something separate from R&B. There was a time when they were basically the same thing and he was a part of that. But either way he's definitely not jazz.

LITTLE RICHARD was always one of my favorite 1950s R&B / rocknroll singers ... something about that voice ... eventually I discovered the earlier Specialty sides, bits of which I've heard and are amazing ... but recently I found a record by him called THE RILL THING from sometime in the late 60s which STOMPS all over the place. Totally amazing. Totally check it out. Totally. Totally. Totally.
