Badass and somewhat obscure japanese album.
Since it made me post, you know this **** is gold.
Not free jazz, so normies can enjoy this as well.
Exo, your hipster ass better listen to this.

Stumbled upon this on the car radio. Can we really call this blues? I’ve no talent for categorising these things but Youtube places it in their blues section. Either way it’s fun. Love that husky voice.

The first few bars of this sound to me like a pre-echo of early white rock & roll.

Yep, that's a really powerful version of "Chevrolet". Here's a calmer version of the same song that I have in my music files.
(Don't miss the female vocals: that's Maria Muldaur at the age of just 24.)

... and a better showcase for MM's voice:-

Tony Joe White - Bad Mouthin' (2018)

I bought this one when it was released in 2018 and took it out for a spin today. The final album from the late, great, Tony Joe White. A combination of blues covers and originals done in his usual swamp-blues style. A satisfying listen from start to finish.

I've not really listened to Tony Joe White's material before, but it didn't take many clicks to arrive at this video of a TJW song, which I enjoyed, especially as it shows a relaxed Elvis at work on his craft:-

Polk Salad Annie is a cool name for a girl or a song, although according to a youtube comment:-

Quote:
It's spelled 'poke', not 'polk', and is a Southern dish made from pokeweed.
