Default similar to in a silent way

I love this record and I was wondering if anyone might have a recommendation for something similar I may have missed.

Difficult question and the only real answer is more Miles Davis.

I always thought that Innercity Ensemble carried on Davis' ideas from that time period and spat them through the lens of a post-Supersilent world. There's always other fusion artists which you've probably already explored, Zawinul's early work and Coryell's Spaces are similar in some ways, but Miles really made it his own.

It never occurred to me these two might have crossed paths. Jimi Hendrix and John McLaughlin.
