Default Grammy Awards of 2009

Did anyone happen to catch the Grammy's Sunday night? What did you think? Do you think that everyone who won deserved to win?

Personally, I was pretty shocked that Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band was not recognized. Not to discredit the other jazz bands and singers that received recognition but Big Phat Band has been committed to the jazz industry and is generally more recognizable than those who actually won. Awards handed out for "Best Instrumental Arrangement", "Best Instrumental Composition", and "Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album" have been given in the past to jazz musicians and recognizable ones with more than a couple hundred albums sold. I will continue to enjoy Big Phat Band's music and hope that listeners will join with me in looking to support and bring this disappointment to the eyes of fans and followers of jazz music.
