Default Best solos: Buddy Guy

My favorite guitar player has always been Buddy. Every note the man hits is exciting, not many guitar players can achieve that. Not to mention he can bend strings very gently or onto the back of the fret.

I watched the Eric Clapton "Crossroads" DVD and Buddy just blew away everybody on that stage, including B.B. and Clapton.

One of the best Blues riffs ever:

As for solos? It's cliched but SRV's Little Wing is gobsmacking:

As god-like as Freddie and Stevie are they've got nothing on Magic Sam, Earl Hooker, and Albert King.

My favorite chunk of Buddy is First Time I Met The Blues from the movie Chicago Blues:

And, for good measure, Buddy and Junior doing Cryin' Shame from the same movie:

No real histrionics, just blues playin'.

It's impossible for me to pick my favorite blues guitarist Stevie Ray, BB King, Albert King, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy etc etc all brilliant in their own way IMHO
