Well I am sure that alot of people did actually dabble in voo doo back in the 30s, especially in the deep south. And most crossroads were notorious places for mischief back then. It must have been a spooky place to be at night.

That Voodoo is a hybrid religion of west African Vodun and Christianity which has nothing to do with selling your soul to the devil. And that Screamin' Jay Hawkins dressing up in campy costumes doesn't make him a practitioner of that religion any more than Sunn0))) dressing up in robes makes them druid priests.

Hahaha... Yeah, blues has virtually nothing to do with voodoo. If there was any selling of souls going on, it was to the Christian devil.
