I love his music. It's great when I want to wind down, at least, that of his stuff that I have.

Hes got some great stuff. the way i foudn out about him was kinda funny...i was making a soundtrack piece for a movie in my video class and someone was telling me that it sounded like the song "blue monk." so i had to check it out.

I don't see how being blind makes playing the piano any harder. Probably makes it easier. You play with your body and ears not eyes.

I didn't realise i had any until upon viewing this thread i looked through my playlist and there it was, I'm listening to sophisticated lady right now, t'is pretty sweet, likeing the keyboard work, the bass isn't anything special, the percussions pretty sweet too, al in all not bad at all...

Sophisticated Lady is a Duke ellington tune. Are you listening to Monk playing it?

Love the Monk. He's been a big influence on me personally. "Straight No Chaser" is worth seeing. You see his brilliance as well as his dark insanity.
