Solid list. My five favorite jazz albums fluctuate quite a bit. Right now I would choose: Thad Jones/Mel Lewis - Potpourri Ray Anderson - Big Band Record Patty Waters - Sings Toshiko Akiyoshi/Lew Tabackin Big Band - Road Time Marian McPartland - From This Moment On |

Journey To Love - Stanley Clarke
I've been listening to this a couple times a year for nearly 50 years. I'm sure jazz purists might dismiss this choice as being more rock than jazz but that's the beauty of fusion.

One of the things I like about this board is learning about music I'm not familiar with. I know Shorter, Blakey and Hancock, but not Sonny Criss and Grant Green, although their names ring a bell. Thanks for your post, onlykidsofnothingstar. And welcome tro Music Banter.

Not sure if I could narrow it down to just 5 all-time favorites, but these are my top 5 favorites that I've been listening to regularly over the past 7 years. I've probably played each one around 30 + times during that time period. |

Another solid list. I'm familiar with all of the artists except Ackamoor--just another one of the many, many musicians whose work I need to check out. i just wish there was a 48 hour day so I would have more time to read and listen to music. |

So much to experience and so little time. A 48 hour day probably still wouldn't be long enough. |
