Solid list. My five favorite jazz albums fluctuate quite a bit. Right now I would choose: Thad Jones/Mel Lewis - Potpourri Ray Anderson - Big Band Record Patty Waters - Sings Toshiko Akiyoshi/Lew Tabackin Big Band - Road Time Marian McPartland - From This Moment On |
Journey To Love - Stanley Clarke
I've been listening to this a couple times a year for nearly 50 years. I'm sure jazz purists might dismiss this choice as being more rock than jazz but that's the beauty of fusion. |
currently:
Sonny’s Dream (Birth of The New Cool) - Sonny Criss Orchestra Speak No Evil - Wayne Shorter Moasic - Art Blakey Empyrean Isles - Herbie Hancock Streets of Dreams - Grant Green |

I've probably played each one around 30 + times during that time period. |

Another solid list. I'm familiar with all of the artists except Ackamoor--just another one of the many, many musicians whose work I need to check out. i just wish there was a 48 hour day so I would have more time to read and listen to music. |

So much to experience and so little time. A 48 hour day probably still wouldn't be long enough. :D |
