On the other side of my musical taste... 60s Psychedelic Pop and Folk. On the other other side of my taste... Psytrance, Goa Trance, Psychill, Progressive Trance. And as a kid I liked Nu Metal and Gangster Rap and will always have a soft spot for it. I'm post-post-indie.

Okay.

Both Boards of Canada and Tim Hecker have incredible production values, BoC if you want a psychedelic nostalgia trip, which will be especially nostalgic if you grew up with Film Board of Canada documentaries. If you enjoy shoegaze and distortion in general, Tim Hecker. Mr. Hecker makes beautiful ethereal atmospheres drenched in distortion and glitch.

I’m sorry I’m not really good at describing music. Usually when asked I just talk about the genre. BoC is ambient techno meets ambient breakbeat, they’re technically not IDM but people often lump them in with IDM so I do too. Tim Hecker is experimental ambient.

Oh and BoC makes a lot of reference to the occult and cults which gives them extra points.
