From the Big Smoke
Hey guys and girls,
32 male from London. I'm working from home for the foreseeable future and have been using all my extra free time to take my music addiction to new heights Someone nominated me for that 10 albums that are important to you, and I took it as an opportunity to do some writing: quick review of the album and explained why they were important to me. Which was a lot of fun to do! I cna post them if anyone is interested. Also giving in and getting spotify has meant I've spent most of my waking Corona days on music of some sort. (In the long arduous process of going through my personal music and putting it in genre playlists on spotify....then getting bored of that every so often and making mood and other themes playlists) I figure instead of annoying my friends through facebook with conversation, I'd talk to some fellow addicts instead! Hey mariemarie!
That is a huge question! I enjoy a huge variety of genres. I grew up with metal and rock music for a lot of my teenage years. So prog rock, grunge, punk-rock, nu-metal, indie rock, post-rock, etc. Then as I got older I added a lot of electronic music to my palette with more chilled stuff like instrumental hip-hop, trip-hop but also the stuff we'd go out raving to like drum&bass, dubstep, electro house, etc. Don't listen to much of the latter stuff at home. I really like lyrical content too so I've added huge amounts of hip-hop to the repertoire too. Also like singer/songwriters, jazz, blues, etc. I could go on, I try to keep an open mind! But I'll list some artists in no order that hopefully show the range- Dispatch, Tool, dredg, Coldcut, Queens of the stone age, J.Cole, Modest Mouse, Opeth, Phaeleh, Gorillaz, J.I.D., 65daysofstatic, Norah Jones, Kid Cudi, Cunninlynguists, The Album Leaf, 311, Santigold, Iron Maiden, Glass Animals, The Cure, BROCKHAMPTON, Fleetwood Mac, Alice in Chains, Aim, CHVRCHES, Rage Against the Machine, Beck, The Knife, The Bug, Lykke Li, Volcano Choir, Queen Adreena, Galactic and probably anything else in between or similar. What about yourself? |

I'm much less eclectic than you are: my taste mainly ranges from classic 60s music to everything that grew put of punk. I also like many other kinds of music, but more incidentally; I don't know much about other genres yet, but I feel like I'm slowly expanding my musical territory. And for any of the genres you mentioned there are people here who know loads about it
