Might as well try this out.

Hi, I'm new to both this place and to forums in general, but I've been coming here to read threads occasionally lately, so I thought that hell I'd might as well sign up and try to say something myself every now and then. Listen to all kinds of things; mostly happen to fall towards like modern classical, minimalism, free jazz, improv, noise, drone, RIO, Canterbury, kraut, prog, psych, black metal, grindcore, electronic,.... All kinds are really of interest.

Well, yeah?

Solid genres. What are a few of your favourite artists/bands?

Your username reminds me of Ehnahre

Wasn't aware of this band, but it sounds somewhat interesting from skipping through it briefly just now. Will look into them some more.

Impossible to answer since there are so much, BUT since you paved the way towards exp.metal, I could namedrop a few of my favs in that area.
Anything connected to Carl-Michael Eide (Ved Buens Ende in particular), Zorn-stuff (Painkiller, Naked City), and well maybe some de Jong (Gnaw Their Tongues, SOME Cloak of Altering, etc), stuff like Murmuüre, Law of the Rope, some tech-death like Gorguts, Deathspell Omega, Ulcerate....
Haha, even when narrowing it down like this it's a damn tricky question to answer.... well.

Are my letters inverted? Must be something wrong with your browser...

You have any recommendations on similar stuff I might've missed?

grindy 09-02-2018 06:20 AM

Dozens and probably hundreds but we'd have to get more specific.

ehname 09-02-2018 11:01 AM

You're right, there's too much good music.
I don't know which way to specify... Guess we'll just meet in the forum threads and take it from there?

grindy 09-02-2018 02:15 PM

Sure thing.
