Default Hello Everyone

Hello Musicians and Fellow Fans, I stumbled on your little corner of the internet after another sleepless night trying to sate my need to comprehend why I enjoy music.

tl;dr - Non-musician, obsessed with specific combinations of instruments for reasons unknown.

A little about me, I'm a 30 year old Graphic Design/Motion Graphics Artist working out of the sticks in Northern California.

My musical interests tend to linger around Metal and Classical with almost nothing in between. That's not to say I dislike everything else, only that very few other genres (that I know of) hit my preferences. I often find myself obsessed with bands that blend the two. Dimmu Borgir, Nightwish, Epica, and Diablo Swing Orchestra to name just a few. I also find the use of traditional instruments in tandem with modern metal very appealing. Wagakki Band, Korpiklaani, and Eluveitie are the first ones that come to mind.

I am not a musician. Years ago in elementary school band, I attempted to play the Clarinet, ultimately, the instructor went ballistic and told me I was the worst he'd ever heard, and like a dumb little kid with a fragile ego would, I quit. Later in high school I tried guitar, but didn't have the discipline to practice on my own, so I learned a handful of riffs, which I probably played the wrong way, and never picked it back up.

About time I cut this short, bit long winded. Look forward to exploring music with all of you.
