Hello Everyone!
i am really bad at introducing myself actually but i wanna give it a try.
i'm a 23 year old music geek from Istanbul. i have been interested in music ever since i was a little kid because i grew up in a really music involved family. i have been reading and following some threads here on music banter since high-school and i finally wanted to join as a member 2 days ago. i don't have a specific 'favourite genre'. i don't like to limit myself. if it stays on the weird, dark and/or depressive side of the music and the quality is good, i am in. i guess, that's all. Hello and welcome to Music Banter.
I discovered Erkin Koray through John Peel. He was a British radio DJ and was famous for getting bands noticed, and his live studio program the John Peel Sessions. Anyway he mentioned the album Elektronik Türküler (1975) so I gave it a listen "and the music is really rather good." just like he said. I heard a few songs by 3 Hür-El but not a whole album. One of my favorite changes in a song is after the verse/chorus in Sevenler Ağlarmış when he switches over to his electric saz! I am also a fan of She Past Away. They are a perfect blend of Post Punk and Goth.
