Default Hellow from Sweden

Hi,

I registered on this forum in hopes of finding some new music. I have an extremely narrow and picky taste and have yet to get help regarding my nitpicking in trip-hop.

My favorite genres are instrumental trip- and hip-hop. Psychedelic-, stoner rock. Doom-, stoner metal as well as the Swedish band Kent which randomly finds it way in my library as pop/rock.

My favorite musicians include Kent, Neroche, Coffee Break Cookies, Damned One, Moderator.

I'm one of those that (sadly) shun mainstream music, and therefore probably miss out on some good tracks. But at the same time the music becomes more than just a thing I enjoy listening to. It becomes a hobby which can take countless hours browsing Bandcamp and Youtube for some new blood joining my playlists.

Love and hugs

Welcome. You say you're into stoner rock/metal. You like these bands?

Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Brant Bjork, TruckFighters, Elder

I've listened to some Queens and from what I've heard they're pretty good. I've heard of Kyuss but can't recall if I've heard any of their songs. The rest unfortunately I've never heard of.

You should definitely listen to Kyuss. Listen to Blues for the Red Sun. It's an extremely good album. Check out all the bands/artists I listed. They're all really good stoner music.

Well if you've never listened to Kyuss then you'll probably be an easy mark for righteous riff recs.

I have never heard Reverend Bizarre before. I'm definitely going to have to listen to this bands music. Pretty damn good.

They have so much **** and it's generally fantastic. First two records are generally my go tos. They only have three, but they're all long as ****, one of them is a double album, and they have a ****load of EPs that are normal album length.

First album was basically their attempt to create the ultimate trad doom album.

Second one might interest you more cause they added a lot of stoner metal to their sound, but while still being self-consciously ridiculous trad doom worship.

But at some point you gotta dig into their ridiculously long epics, which is when you go to the 2-hour long III: So Long Suckers which has three songs that get close the the 30-minute mark. But it never feels pretentious or stuffy. They just have a **** ton of fun making doom. OMG I gotta go play it.
