Lunar transmission incoming: "Hello"
Well, hello fellow music fans and musicians, I am the space pioneer commonly called "Alek"... I am of the male gender and am 16 Earth years in age. As you can probably tell I'm very space themed, and that's because I'm really interested outer space and I'll probably be an astrophysicist someday. I also have liked doing outer space art (paper for a long time but mostly digital now though) so if anyone wants a realistic space picture or planet landscape I could probably help. Though, of course, all of that isn't the reason I'm here, as you might guess, I'm here because I also love music. As far as what I like specifically, or what kind of music I like, I tend to have the problem that I only end up really liking bands if the first song or two I hear from them catch my attention, or I heard a song as a kid and now love it, but of course thats sort of a nostalgic thing so...Its kind of hard to describe what kind of music I like because of these things, so the best thing I can do is just list the stuff I like, despite said list being quite long...
Though I will say, the title of this thread is a little easter egg as to some of what I like: Thriving Ivory (Angels on the Moon as part of the reference) and Starset's album Transmissions (that should be obvious now, lol) Other than that, I also highly enjoy Starset's recently released album Vessels, nearly everything Thriving Ivory has ever made, I even like some of their unreleased songs you can find on youtube. I like Broken Iris (band), quite a lot of the songs from Rise, Awake and Comatose (all albums) by Skillet, Human and One-X (both albums) by Three Days Grace, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September Ends (songs) by Green Day, Kings and Queens and This is War (songs) by 30 Seconds to Mars, Second Chance (song) by Shinedown, basically every song on The Greatest Hits album by 3 Doors Down, All the Right Moves, Secrets, Good Life and Apologize (all songs) by OneRepublic, Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls, Everything from the album The Reason by Hoobastank, Anthem of the Lonely (song) by Nine Lashes.. a few different scattered songs by Linkin Park... And much more! I may have to start a new thread on here documenting all the songs I currently like and possibly ones I've liked in the past but just feel kind eh about today...The reason I didn't continue? Too much. I started looking just at my spotify playlists and realized that if I tried to list everything this would be even more of a wall of text than it already is... So yeah, I guess for now, that's me. If you haven't noticed yet, you will soon, that I am very weird :-> *bows* Space Pioneer Alek... out! Edit: I got so caught up in talking about the music I like that I forgot to mention that I'm a drummer and can somewhat sing. |

Hey, Alek, welcome to MB. Most here will want to know about your music tastes, but I'm more interested in hearing about your interest in physics. Have you read any of Richard Feynman's books?

Haven't heard... :-/
That's alright I'm happy to tell :-) I don't actually know, during the period I did my reading in books I didn't really pay attention to the authors, honestly, now I do most of my reading online..I could go a look through the ones I actually have and see but that would take awhile.. |

No? Oh man...
The Feynman Lectures on Physics Although somebody like Stephen Hawking might be more down your line if you're into astro. (I'm also a 16-year-old dude, btw.)

Probably, not sure though since general physics does apply to astrophysics. Awesome |
