So why did you decide to start posting after all this time?

I joined here mostly because I'm sick of modern social media and this is one of the last few music forums still standing. I lurked a lot back in the day because when I was younger I was a bit more socially awkward and I preferred reading discussions to participating in them.

Honestly back then I just wasn't very secure in my own musical taste or my identity as a music listener. As I enter my mid-30s I finally feel like I'm entering my "IDGAF about what anyone considers good taste" era.

What do you not like about modern social media? And what are your thoughts on disco?

Depends on the site, but mostly it's just burnout from how fast paced other platforms are. I like a more relaxed environment compared to something like Reddit. And the less said about what Twitter has become the better.

And disco is generally great stuff! I'm sick of the overplayed hits, but it's a classic sound and I especially like early 80s synth disco, Hi-NRG and italo.

Funny thing is, the entire train wreck that was 2018, I weighed in the 135-140 range (fighting weight is 165-170).

My previous pic doesn't have my current hair color, so here's a more up to date one, plus bonus baby gonzo that I've had since the early 90s.
I just noticed how awful my hair looks in this pic, omg haha. I think that was a couple weeks ago when I tried a new conditioner that didn't work out too great. Ah well.

Went out to a goth club last night. Here's me hours before, just after realizing I own next to zero clothes that could pass for goth and hastily cobbling together an outfit. I have spared you the sight of my makeupless face. Enjoy my lovely minimoogs, though.

Thank you! And I feel that. I normally dress pretty hyper-femme so I feel like people make assumptions about my music taste. I once walked into Guitar Center wearing a bright pink gingham dress and surprised some dudes by joining their conversation about 90s death metal, haha.
