Nice bed head but where are those lovely teeth I'm jealous of? :)

Good for you, ribbons! There are times when we are justified in pushing back against family pressure.

Take it easy, be patient if you are doing physiotherapy stuff - and find some more Favourite Musician Photos. That thread needs you !!

Emergency back surgery, nerve damage resulting in foot drop and wearing a leg brace. Lots of physical therapy but things are definitely improving. Hope all is well with you and Hanna!

Oh man, I know thats some serious pain. Good to hear it's improving at least.

Yup, the little peanut and me are doing swell. :)

It's so nice to get a dose of Lisna again - better than any medicine. Thank you!

And a sweet little peanut she is - happy new year to both of you!

rubber soul 01-04-2023 11:35 AM

Ribbons, where have you been?

ribbons 01-04-2023 11:47 AM

^ Dealing with a spinal cracker and some Blue Meanies. ;)

Mucha na Dziko 01-04-2023 11:47 AM

Oh no! Severe sciatic pain is the worst. The simplest way for me to explain it to anyone is to ask them to bend a finger backwards to the point of pain. Now imagine that's your entire lower torso, but being bent back even further.

You getting relief from the PT exercises/stretches?

I'm glad you're checking in, I missed you! I'm sorry about the back issues, I hope you're recovering quickly and you're getting good care. But good to hear that everyone was reasonable about the wedding speech in the end

I've missed you too, Marie! Thanks so much. I'm getting excellent care and going from strength to strength with the physio. It's a gradual process and, as Lisna stated, requires patience.

Still feeling somewhat of a failure in not making the speech but must admit, I was secretly glad I got out of it. I think publicly speaking would have been even harder for me than the surgery was!

Janszoon 01-04-2023 12:42 PM

Nice to see you ribbons! Best of luck with your recovery!

That's a very good description!

PT exercises/stretches make me feel more supple/less stiff (which really helps with the foot drop) but not helping much pain-wise. That's where the Tramadol comes in - which doesn't really eradicate the pain but sort of smooths it out, if that makes sense. The worst pain arises when the PT has me pick up marbles with my toes - yikes, lol.

Also, surprised you're not more grey by now.

There's a little bit but not much. Men in my family seem to just get the salt and pepper grey so fingers crossed. My grandfather is almost 90 and still has mostly black hair.

You have beautiful hands, Boo - and pretty dress. Aussie hair spray FTW for volumizing, lol.

Mucha na Dziko 01-05-2023 12:32 PM

so technically it's not me, as it's my mother and our dog (Loulou) on the picture, but I still felt like sharing

https://i.postimg.cc/YCZPbwy1/IMG-1699.jpg

My mom wanted to rest her head on my trumpet case, thus she looks likes she's the trumpet player in our household.
She also has my father's camera.

I guess she should've took some of my sister's paints and brushes to appropriate all of our family's artistic gimmicks

Marie Monday 01-05-2023 01:07 PM

nice photos to both Boo and Mucha! <3

Plankton 01-05-2023 01:11 PM

Your Mom seems nice Mucha. Looks like a sunken ship in the background.

Lollygagging with trumpet (and Loulou) on the beach. That's my idea of the good life. Lovely pic, Mucha. :)

Mucha na Dziko 01-05-2023 01:52 PM

that's where my parents live now, it's 20 degrees Celsius in the winter lol

The south coast of France

If anything is a good life, it's what they created for themselves there

I just visited them last week, it was a nice change from the frosty winter I had in Paris all this time

Nice to see you!

The Batlord 01-06-2023 04:43 AM

Every once in awhile I get minor paranoia that we're all being watched by long-term lurkers who stare spider-like at our foibles and **** ups and it's nice to know that fear is well founded.

Marie Monday 01-06-2023 04:56 AM

If the lurkers look as cool as Synthgirl I'm ok with it

If it's any consolation I absolutely love your taste in old school metalcore. ;)

Great pic, Synthgirl - your eyes are beautiful and if I may say, I think you strongly resemble Zooey Deschanel! :)
