^ Yes, definitely haven't seen those before! I love the top one with hammer. Of course I'm totally adrift when it comes to labelling fashion genres: I just remember you favouring black, so assumed, "Oh, that must be androgenous cowboy goth then." :(

( There's a pic of me in this thread somewhere, during my unassuming middle-class liberal phase - a phase which has lasted for about 40 years now.)

The Batlord 02-09-2020 07:12 PM

oh btw @chio I found someone I'm convinced is actually you on Youtube

goldendoodle 02-09-2020 09:21 PM

No worries Lisna! Yes I think I saw your recent picture when I was creeping through this thread the other day to see what you all look like now, it's a great photo! (also L O V E D MarieMarie's photo of her in the suit) My vintage western shirt phase didn't last long enough sadly.

Omg I just watched the latest installment of The Christmas Prince a couple weeks ago, actually. I'm so pleased that someone is doing such thorough breakdown about Hallmark's dystopian cinematic christmas universe (I know TCP isn't a hallmark movie but it's close enough. Netflix's versions of hallmark movies are like.. marginally more risque and a bit less creepy but they're still fairly bizarre and Hallmarky. 80s-90s Hallmark movies were way better. Nowadays all the actors just look pained and dead-eyed and terrifying with the charisma of a brick) I haven't seen this girl's other youtube videos though, only The Christmas Prince one. But yes she's licherally me cornering someone at a party to tell them all about my current fixation. Speaking of Hallmark movies, someone really needs to create a neural-net generated Hallmark script and actually make it with a huge budget and all.

Marie Monday 02-10-2020 01:59 AM

Omg so you noticed me
I'm really happy to meet you, Chiomara! It's nice jow some of the old members are coming back recently. And your cowboy goth phase looks amazing

goldendoodle 02-10-2020 11:45 AM

Ofc I noticed you! I'm always beyond thrilled when there's a new female member in this place who doesn't immediately run for the hills. (And thank you!) Love the Willow avatar also.

Marie Monday 02-10-2020 12:48 PM

Who's your favourite Buffy character?

You should check her out cause she's great.

I have sort of Bat, I've seen bits and pieces of some of her videos and I do really like what I've seen so far; I need to watch some more.

MarieMarie, I haven't rewatched buffy in a long time but I'd say Buffy is, followed by Faith and Anya. (I find the older I get, the more I favor and relate to Buffy whereas when I first watched, my favorite was ofc Willow.)

Marie Monday 02-11-2020 03:31 PM

^I definitely think relating to Buffy is a sign of maturity, fmy favourite is still Willow lol
But Faith is my second favourite too, after that it's either Anya or Spike

It's always nice to meet people who appreciate Buffy. I remember that when I introduced myself here I happened to mention that I was a fan of the show and Ori and Bat turned my introduction thread into an unofficial Buffy thread, good times

I think the reason is that originally the show was just a campy horror version of 90s teen dramas like 90210 and Melrose Place, but once they graduated high school and had gone through so much **** the writers had no choice but to step up and turn Buffy into a living, breathing adult who gets hit in the face with a sledgehammer by life and it's hella relatable. That moment Buffy walks into the house and finds her mom dead was lowkey a bigger game changer than Angel losing his soul.

I have it downloaded in my hardrive. File name: Things I Must Try To Forget

You have my nudity preserved?

The Batlord 02-14-2020 05:03 PM

Also why does the in-thread search function no longer work? I can use the search function for the larger forum but if I click the "Search this Thread" thing inside a thread, click "Advanced Search", and then enter a search it takes me to a "Database Error" page. And it's been doing this for weeks or months in all threads.

goldendoodle 02-15-2020 01:15 AM

Oh hi elph.

Can't believe I didn't post these obviously superior photos instead.. This one's about 6 months old and I'm posing with glow in the dark skeletons while wearing my favorite britney spears tshirt:

https://i.imgur.com/2X3etSH.jpg

And
https://i.imgur.com/UIvkX3a.jpg
With the household sword. I took like 800 photos while murmuring "I'm literally Joan of Arc" to myself. (love how the light of the TV highlights my acne scars)

https://i.imgur.com/xuYBq1e.jpg
obligatory graveyard photo (taken with my beloved Fisher Price camera which unfortunately I've lost. It's really good for taking grainy spooky outdoor photos. I mean, if early 2000s webcam-quality photos is something you consider ""really good"". Thankfully I used it to take some photos of the now-fully-abandoned mall shortly before it was shut down.

https://i.imgur.com/23wYeK3.jpg
Another from the goth cowboy era. There were lots of Squatting by Trees photoshoots. (notice my pants also have a tree branch design on them. LOVE those pants)

OK I'm done for now. My current rosacea flare-up will prohibit me from taking photos any time soon so don't worry.

I bet overdosing to their music would be great. Soon as I get the balls. Has getting extremely drunk ever given you the courage to try?

goldendoodle 02-15-2020 05:24 PM

Thanks Bat, I was hoping someone would add that to the photo.

It's awful. You had eczema on your face? Did anything trigger it in particular? Literally everything triggers my skin issues. Lots of things can sort of mimic rosacea (contact dermatitis, perioral dermatitis etc) too ofc, and dermatologists are often useless. Things got a lot worse after I finally stopped antibiotics a few years ago after having been on them for 2 whole years for acne. I had a bright beet-red scaly outbreak of bumps on both cheeks (typical of type 2 rosacea) and it took over 2 months to go away; I still have scarring from it.

Starting a synthpop band! Been with Black Bouquet 3 years now but I listen to much more electronic nowadays so I just thought it was time to move on.

I'm also jobless atm lol. Trying to apply to different stocking positions.

Yep, it was on the lower half of my face, it was horrible. To this day I have no clue what triggered it, I'd never had anything like it before. It also took ages to cure, basically the dermatologists just kept prescribing different medicines which did nothing, and then someone finally gave me anitbiotibs and after a lot of hassle that made it go away

Also Lucem, please don't talk encouragingly about suicide. Are you ok?

Everyone I went to Japan with for this trip has never been. Not knowing the do's and don'ts for everything is making me super anxious and paranoid.

grindy 03-03-2020 11:23 PM

I somehow thought that you went alone.
Just read a few rules on the internet (or ask OccultHawk) and you'll be fine (or not, if you ask OccultHawk). Everyone probably assumes that gaijin are gonna gaijin anyway.

This is how it is. Use common sense and have fun.

I think the coolest tourist experiences are:

Getting laid
Getting a haircut
Going to an onsen
