I met lots of really cool people at an anarchist book store collective space in Portland

That’s also where I got involved with food not bombs and critical mass

Who would've thought that your comment could be so controversial ? Although there have been a few happy exceptions in my life, I basically agree with DMcC, that browsing in a bookshop feels more natural when done alone. In company, I usually end up worrying about what book might be of mutual interest, etc.

In company, sitting down over coffee is always a pleasure, although for me, going for a stroll is an even better option. The movement and slowly evolving scenery is very conducive to a conversation that can be intimate, that can comfortably lapse, or that can lurch off in an unexpected direction.

@DWV : yeah, I had some doubts about the motivation behind posting a selfie, but then my craving for attention got the better of me ;)

^ Brilliant!
afaik WWWP and me have been talking about a different kind of bookstore. You've even managed to make DMcC look like some naive innocent - and that's not an easy thing to achieve ;)

Marie Monday 08-13-2019 07:19 AM

I often browse bookstores in company, but for me that means each going their own way, and when you meet up you discuss the books you found. I think that's a nice middle ground between going solo and being social.
To me concerts are an occasion which many people whom I know view as social, but which I prefer to experience alone

The top of your head is cute. I like the artwork too

The Batlord 08-14-2019 01:54 PM

The angle of the picture makes her look like a little kid in art class but what she's painting either gets like five gold stars or a snide comment by the jealous art teacher. I like the pic as an unintentional conceptual piece if my humor is not clear.

Thank you.
I look very young for my age, I don't look like 31 years old.

If asked, though, I'd confidently swear that the photos above and below show two completely different people, neither of whom is 31 years old. If you are posting photos of your younger sisters and claiming them to be yourself, I think it's time to own up. ;)

The Batlord 08-29-2019 04:51 PM

That problem seems to be solving itself.

I met one of the developers of Dead Cells at PAX today. Going back again tomorrow since my brother hooked me up with a 4 day pass.

The Batlord 08-31-2019 07:10 PM

His right arm must get a lot more use than his left. Odd.

^ Good to see both of you guys looking cool and content, and although I like your new shades, Mindfulness, I gotta go with Key as having made a better choice regarding his frames. ;)

playin b ball in your oosa shades?

Lisnaholic 09-02-2019 04:53 PM

hooping? b ball? We're talking about basket ball, right? Isn't it strange to wear glasses to play basket ball? I wear glasses to read, but at least with reading there's little risk of getting body-slammed, or of having the book bounce up and hit you in the face.

The Batlord 09-02-2019 05:04 PM

Body slammed? Do you know what basketball is?

Frownland 09-02-2019 05:09 PM

I get bodyslammed all the time when I read. That's how it goes on the streets.

Lisnaholic 09-02-2019 06:04 PM

^ Sounds like a pretty brutal neighbourhood!

I once got a rather nasty paper cut on the tip of my finger: my fault for reading a book without protective gloves, but, hey, that's how I roll.

That reminds me, I tried rubbing my dick on the Bible once and got a paper cut. Now I'm a youth pastor. True story.

Was it a holy bible?

The Batlord 09-02-2019 06:21 PM

Nah it was intact.

^ I'm trying to decide which is most puzzling: thinking of doing that, actually doing that or posting about it on line.
