Thanks, everyone! I had a chat with the owner of the boutique about how vintage menswear is drying up. He doesn't know what he's going to do for disco season come October. We jived about how the younger generation has a disposable mentality and doesn't pass on their vintage apparel, and how no one wants to wear 80s mass-produced garments.

He explained that all the punk and pop fashion of the 80s was DIY - Madonna and Cyndi Lauper didn't go to the mall to buy bullet bras and their trademark styles. It's going to be a real hard time for retro clothing boutiques this decade.

Thankfully I've got a fully-stocked wardrobe of 60s-70s retro wear. And as long as I keep coming across nifty finds like this one, I'll keep buyin'!

Consistent with the neo-Victorian theme of the rest of my home, the bedroom is furnished with a brass bed dressed with velvet, satin, tasseled throws, and a shag fur winter throw and nine decorative velvet pillows.

The lighting is supplied by antiquarian shaded fringe lamps and fairy lights with hanging lanterns at either side of the bed.

A vintage amp and speaker pair are set up facing the bed with a tablet patched into the server over WiFi with access to hundreds of thousands of selections spanning classical, jazz, and downtempo electronica which really ornaments the space well.

It's a humble home built in the 20s with all original archways, fireplace, bookshelves, and gumwood trim intact.

Definitely ISB heaven.

I've only cataloged and photographed my ~400 most valuable records, and photo documented the interior of the home. It would be difficult to assess the replacement value of most of my property as everything I own is second hand from estates or auctions, and I tend to acquire them far below their resale value.

Nothing I own is in any way valuable if a thief were to try to rob me - I have no electronics or television and reselling my artifacts would be FAR more trouble than it's worth. I just have to hope I never have a fire or an environmental catastrophe.
