i actually agree with a lot of what Xurtio has said tbh. i stopped using the word irl after I turned like 14. i didn't say it for the longest time online either but after coming to this site and seeing it so much it just naturally became a part of my vocabulary. im not really against or for the use of the word, but I certainly don't think anyone here uses it with the intent to harm others.

To expand on what I said earlier, I'm more likely to tell a racist joke around my black coworkers because it's all in good fun and they'll come right back with a cracker joke, but I wouldn't tell a homophobic joke cause there's a certain homophobic atmosphere with, not all, but certain people there and I wouldn't want to associate with that. Whereas I don't feel that at all here so I don't feel the same distaste for throwing around "***got".

If you use that definition, calling someone ***got is being an sjw. I guess a def of sjw is in order though. Imo, it is people who indignantly cause harm on the iternet under the banner of social justice. Thus, "warrior", as attacking is involved.

At the end of the day, we're all just a bunch of ***gots.

and similarly to Batlord's point, the company I'm with does not dictate my morality. There are some people I may joke more with and what not, but the context of my jokes isn't going to suddenly become racist/sexist I'm in the company of people who aren't offended by that kind of thing.

You just answered your own question. I don't have to worry about something going wrong because if people find it funny, it's mutually accepted.

It's not just about the people who might get offended, it's about the people who might find the joke funny. I wouldn't tell racist or homophobic jokes at Stormfront because the reason they would laugh would piss me off. The reason the people here make and laugh at jokes like that is far different though.

I noticed an increase in the usage as soon as WD left and no one had to worry about offending him. I guess that does make you dorks somewhat considerate, I'm still judging you though.

I mean, again, I never saw WD express he was offended by it. It's a completely different scenario when it's publicly said that they are offended. As far as I know that hasn't happened.

Try going through grade school while everyone else knows your mom is gay and all of your peers call you a *** by association. Two things happen. I think of sjw as more of a pejorative than that, I'm annoyed by the kind of content I see them posting on facebook and the things they get triggered over (and how they totally abuse the concept of triggers). I posted the slaughter process for chickens (NOT as a vegetarian statement - *I* was part of the slaughter) and I got complaints.

People also get called sjw when calling out harmful behavior, but imo it's still an attempt to slander and discredit what the person is saying - and some people respond by taking it up as a badge - so maybe it's an ill-defined term anyway.

I don't go around calling out people on the internet, I'm pretty unmotivated, and my initial comment was pretty low energy, but I was insulted by the insinuation that I wasn't cultured enough to know Louis CK's ***got spiel. The nerve of some people.
