Because the people involved in the picture don't know that you're showing them off to tons of people they don't know. Their face is being plastered around the internet and they have no idea. It's creepy.

It's like taking a picture of someone and putting their face on a poster, then putting that poster up all over town. Without them knowing.

Considering both of my kids have huge on-line presences because of their jobs/careers/hobbies, it's not as big a deal as you'd like to make it. Google each of their names and dozens of photos of them will pop up.
